This piece came into the present Collection to commemorate the success of 'What a Wonderful World' written by George David Weiss for jazz icon Louis Armstrong, 'I see skies of blue, clouds of white...and I think to myself what a wonderful world'. It is interesting to note that a similar jardinière serves as the emblem for the International Majolica Society.
