A Sèvres bleu nouveau cabaret
painted with alternate sprays of roses and leafy garlands within gilt shaped oval panels below a border gilt with scrolls and sablés, comprising: a lobed tray (déjeuner 'du roi'), an ogee sugar-bowl and cover (pot à sucre), and a cup and saucer (goblet 'litron' et soucoupe), incised marks, the tray and cup and saucer with blue interlaced Ls marks, enclosing date letters for 1772, the tray with painter's mark 6 for Bertrand, the cup and saucer with painter's mark ' for Charles-Louis Méreand le Jeune (the sugar bowl with chips to finial, the saucer broken and restored, light rubbing to gilding generally)
