PHILIP IV, KING OF SPAIN (1605-1665); & CHARLES II, KING OF SPAIN (1661-1700)
A series of nine letters from Philip IV, Madrid, 29 June - 10 November 1621, approximately 11pp, folio, to Don Antonio de la Cueva y Cordoba, with two enclosures, recommendations for the provisioning of the fleet, referring to hostilities against the United Provinces, reproving Don Antonio for rubricating documents rather than signing them, and complaining of robbery and fraud from galleons (some staining, fading and light wear).
Together with ten documents signed by Philip IV, 20 October 1624 - 20 July 1653, and three documents signed by Charles II and one by his mother, Queen Marianna de Austria whilst Regent, 20 August 1669 - 30 September 1683, approximately 58pp, folio, on various subjects including grants of privileges to Bernardino de Meneses, the Marquis de Flores de Avila and others (some wears, tears and staining).
