Of polished black persimmon carved in the form of an ashinaga [long- legged foreigner], his folded arms forming the holder, standing on a rock carved with a recess for the pipe-bowl, signed hinoto-i shujitsu Tokusai [Tokusai, on an autumn day in the hinoto-i year (1827)]
