A TSUBA SIGNED TSUNEYO AND THREE OTHERS
Edo period (18th/19th century)
An oval copper tsuba inlaid in shakudo with seven bamboo mon, signed Fusai Tsuneyo, 7.5cm.; a rectangular tsuba in the style of Yasuchika 'drifted' with irregular patches of silver and gold overlay, over which two inlaid shibuichi dragons pursue two tama, with signature Joi, 6.9cm.; an almost circular dark shibuichi tsuba with a heavily gilt rim, carved on the face with two shishi and on the reverse with a rock beside a stream, inscribed Somin with a kao, 7.5cm.; and a rounded rectangular shibuichi tsuba carved and inlaid with the figure of Tekkai sennin releasing a dragon from his bowl and on the reverse a waterfall, with signature Suiyodo Nagayuki with a kao, 6.35cm.
