A FINE AWA HIRATA TSUBA, ANOTHER OF THE SCHOOL OF FUNADA IKKIN AND A GILT BRASS TSUBA
Edo period (18th/19th century)
A sentoku tsuba inlaid with Hosokawa mon amongst plum blossoms, 7.2cm.; a shakudo tsuba with an irregular outline, inlaid with a dragon clutching a tama, the reverse with a plum tree in the same techniques, with signature Yamashiro no kuni Nishijin no ju Umetada Myoju with a kao, 6.9cm.; and a carved and inlaid gilt brass tsuba decorated with chidori, two of them inlaid in silver, flying around drying fishing nets under a silver-inlaid moon, with signature Goto Mitsumori, 7.4cm.
