The oval shakudo plate carved with a village below a mountainous landscape, the clouds partly gilt, the river and moon in silver hirazogan

Lot Essay

Tomonobu was born in Ise province (now Mie Prefecture) and studied drawing from Tani Buncho. He lived in Edo as did Kazunobu and Masanobu. He worked mainly in sentoku.
