A Niderviller boat-shaped porte huillier and cover
Circa 1770, period of Beyerlé Custine
Moulded to resemble planks of wood and painted with flower-sprays, the deck with five recesses, the pierced galleried stern with a boy holding an oar and the prow with open mouthed animal's-mask head, the stern with a mask head flanked by moulded scrolls, enriched in puce (cover repaired, boy restuck to stern and oar restored)
