A North Italian sgraffiato lion candlestick
19th century
Modelled roaring and standing to the left, with a seven pointed crown forming the nozzle and with incised ochre mane, his body covered in a pale-cream slip with lightly incised claws and ribs (nozzle repaired, restoration to tip of tail, left front leg and back foot restored, base perhaps lacking, some glaze flaking)
