Modelled by Guiseppe Gricci, the lady in a black bonnet and long flowing crinoline painted with flowers and with a gilt-panelled bodice and long sleeves, holding a fan and resting on her companion's arm, he in powdered wig en queue and with blue lapelled and cuffed white frock-coat, puce and purple diaper-patterned waistcoat with gilt buttons and black breeches and shoes, a black tricorn hat beneath his left arm and offering snuff to his companion, standing on a rectangular mound base (she with chips to edge of bonnet, restored through neck and cracked through dress and to lower part of dress above her shoes, part of her left hand and his right hand lacking, chips to tricorn hat and edge of jacket, cracked through back of jacket and restored)
