Lot Essay
Seago visited Morocco in 1966, 1967 and 1968. The late nineteenth century palace at Telouet in the foothills of the Atlas mountains was the subject of several paintings and its dramatic history as the home of the celebrated Pasha of Marrakech, Thami el Glaoui, appealed to Seago (see J.W. Reid, Edward Seago, The Landscape Art, London, 1991, p. 235).
