A pair of Meissen Turkish sweetmeat-figures
Circa 1745, blue crossed swords marks at back
Modelled by J.J. Kändler, seated beside oval ozier-moulded baskets and covers, painted with bouquets and flower-sprays within moulded quatrefoil cartouches within gilt line rims, the covers with flower finials, he in plumed hat and blue-lined yellow coat and she in white long-sleeved overcoat and flowered dress, on shaped rockwork bases applied with coloured flowers (he restored through neck and with restoration to plume and slight crack to centre of inside of bowl, she with minute chip to right sleeve and slight chip to foot, both finials with slight chips)
