Munnings chose to illustrate a very similar watercolour of a collie dog entitled A Shetland Collie in his autobiography (see A.J. Munnings, The Second Burst, Bungay, 1951, opposite page 208).

A similar composition in oil is in the collection of the Sir Alfred Munnings Museum, Castle House, Dedham.
