A Meissen group of Venus and Cupid
Circa 1750, blue crossed swords mark
Modelled as Venus scantily clad in a lilac-lined pale-yellow flowered dress, seated on a gilt-tasselled turquoise cushion in a deep shell with Cupid at her side, the rim applied with a garland of garden flowers supported by two mermen, on an oval scroll-moulded base enriched in gilding (very slight chipping to fingers and flowers, bow lacking from Venus's right hand)
