A Meissen (Marcolini) blue-ground cup and cover Circa 1800, blue crossed swords, star and four marks, gilder's .S. to footrim
The waisted cup painted en grisaille with a portrait of Pope Pius VI in profile to the right within a bronzed and gilt cartouche, the cover painted with the papal tiara within a similar cartouche and with bronzed and gilt wreath and ribbon finial (chips to finial and slight loss of gilding to rim of cup)
