The Gunn & Moore "Autograph" bat damaged with missing section bottom right corner of blade, losses to rubber grip covering handle.
This tour of Australia by the M.C.C. was regarded generally as a failure, as they lost four out of five test matches, not helped by the fact that their inspirational captain Arthur Jones was seriously ill for the first three Test Matches. He scored 119 against South Australia with this bat, which is inscribed to that effect.
Provenance: This bat was purchased in 1967 from E. K. Brown, bookseller, of Liskeard, Cornwall.
