A Japanese bronze inlaid dish
of oval form, the central oval surface decorated with gilt bronze figures of a farmer with a monkey on his shoulder and a monkey dressed in clothes holding a parasol, the outer rim of interlacing bands forming a wickerwork design -- 11in. (28cm.) wide, incised signature to base, 19th Century, (minor rubbing).
