A large Satsuma koro and cover
with seated Buddhistic lion finial and moulded mythical beast head feet , painted and gilt with panels of dignitaries on pine-strewn riverbanks on grounds of ho-o roundels, dense flowerheads and foliage -- 22¾in. (58cms) high, 19th century, (some chips to extremities of lion tail, two rim cracks, some gilt rubbing).
