A French blue and white glazed faience vase and cover
Probably Devres, Second half 19th Century
Decorated with scrolling foliage and flowers, the domed cover above a waisted neck and baluster body decorated to one side with a cartouche-shaped reserve, surmounted by an armorial shield and a pair of putti and decorated with a scene of a man and woman driving cattle across a river, and to the other with a shield with a stork, surmounted by a further stork and scrolling foliage, with a pair of foliate-moulded scroll handles, terminating at each end with a putto mask, on waisted stem and spreading foot, old restoration to base
