This Ideal bear was purchased in Canada in 1907 by the family who were on their way to Figi. He spent some years in Figi returning to England in 1913.

An Ideal teddy bear
with golden mohair, black glass button eyes, clipped snout, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed shaped limbs, felt pads and hump --11in. (28cm.) tall, circa 1907 (loss of mohair to lower left side of face, neck, body and outer left arm, moth damage to left paw pad, slight overall wear)
