Lot Essay
Punkinhead was made exclusively as the mascot for Eaton's Department Store in Toronto. He became the hero of several storybooks, as well as the leader of the annual Santa Claus parade.

with brown mohair, pale blond mohair inner ears and chest, clear and black glass eyes painted white on reverse, cream velvet cut muzzle, black stitched nose and smiling mouth, Mohican-style scalp lock of white mohair, swivel head, jointed limbs, brown felt paw pads, velvet card lined shoes with label stitched to base of right foot, wearing original red felt shorts --10in. (25.5cm.) tall, circa 1950 (very small wear)
