An ormolu and cut glass garniture
Late 19th Century
Comprising a mantel clock and pair of vases: The clock with shaped case surmounted by scrolling foliage, with bevelled glass sides and top and opening front and rear, the blue and white enamel dial painted with flower festoons, with pierced foliate hands, Arabic numerals and minute divisions, the twin-train movement with countwheel striking on a bell, signed indistinctly D..SON & CO. LTD/BELFAST/MADE IN FRANCE, the circular pendulum inset with a painted portrait of the goddess Diana, on serpentine-shaped base and toupie feet; the vases each of square baluster form applied with gilt foliage and headed by an oval painted portrait of a lady in seventeenth century dress, with a pair of foliate-scrolling handles, on square serpentine-shaped base and toupie feet
The clock: 7¾ in. (19.7 cm.) wide; 14¾ in. (37.5 cm.) high; 5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) deep
The vases: 10½ in. (26.7 cm.) high (3)
