Lot Essay

Nicolson (op. cit.) records the sitter appearing in Wright's account books circa 1760. Wright also refers to a lady of this name in a letter to his sister from Rome, 4th May 1775: 'Make compts. to Mrs. Fowler & to her most ingenious & agreeable daughter...'
