A Meissen part dinner service
Last quarter 19th Century
Each piece decorated to the centre with loose bouquets of flowers and scattered insects, within gadrooned and ozier moulded border painted with scattered sprays and gilt line rim, comprising:
A large oval tureen and cover, with twisted foliate-moulded finial and handles, 15 in. (38 cm.) wide;
Two circular tureens and covers, with foliate-moulded finial and handles, 13 in. (33 cm.) diameter
Two double-handled sauceboats and fixed stands, 10½ in. (26.6 cm.) wide
Six oval serving dishes, of three graduating sizes, two with chips to foot rim, 14 7/8 in., 17 1/8 in. and 19 5/8 in. (37.7 cm., 43.3 cm. and 49.7 cm.) wide
Six circular serving dishes, of three graduating sizes, one with chip to rim, two with chip to foot rim, 10 3/8 in., 12 1/8 in. and 14 in. (26.2 cm., 30.7 cm. and 35.5 cm.) wide
Two fish serving dishes, 21¾ in. (55.2 cm.) wide
Two small oval serving dishes, one broken, 10 7/8 in. (27.5 cm.) wide
Two small circular serving dishes, 9 5/8 in. (25.4 cm.) diameter
Twenty-three dinner-plates, four with chip to rim, one broken and restored, 9 7/8 in. (25 cm.) diameter
Twelve side-plates, one with chip to rim, 8 in. (20.2 cm.) diameter
Each piece with blue crossed swords mark, red pattern number 46 and impressed numbers
