An ormolu and porphyry mantel clock
In the Empire Revival Style, Late 19th Century
Surmounted by the drum-shaped movement flanked by acanthus leaves, the circular porphyry dial with laurel and flower-cast rim, serpent hands and Roman numerals, the twin-train movement with countwheel striking on a bell, the rectangular case with porphyry panel centred by two classical females and a child, flanked by an Ionic column, the sides cast with a ribbon-tied flambeau and wreath, the base cast with acanthus and with porphyry panel centred by a mask flanked by anthemia, on laurel-cast toupie feet
