A mahogany, crossbanded and inlaid secretaire bookcase, late 18th Century with alteration and restoration
The top and bottom possibly associated, the upper part with a moulded dentil cornice and figured frieze fitted with adjustable shelves and enclosed by a pair of pointed Gothic arched astragal glazed doors inlaid with lines, the lower part with a moulded edge having a crossbanded fall enclosing a fitted interior with drawers and arched pigeon holes, with central enclosed cupboard, fitted with an arched drawer above between secret compartments crossbanded in tulipwood, containing three long drawers below, on shortened shaped base
