In the Louis XV style, the quarter-veneered hinged top centred by a Sevres style floral plaque, within a gilt-metal border, enclosing a quilted interior with engraved hinges and locking plate inscribed Alph. Giroux, Paris, with foliate applied frieze, on cabriole legs headed by C-scrolls and cabochons trailing to sabots, joined by a similar porcelain mounted undertier
