An Empire ormolu striking mantel clock, first quarter 19th century
The case modelled as a bookcase surmounted by an urn with serpent handles, flanked by figures of a classical male and female reading, on stepped base cast with a relief frieze of amorini emblematic of the Arts and Sciences, the white enamel Roman dial (restoration around winding holes) signed Ls Mallet H DE M D D'ORLÉANS, steel spade hands, the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell -- 18½in. Lots will be available for collection following transfer to Cadogan Tate from the Friday 8 September and every week-day from 9.00a.m. to 5.00p.m.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE TO PURCHASERS WHO COLLECT THEIR LOTS WITHIN ONE WEEK OF THIS SALE.
On the Thursday 14 September a transfer and administration charge of £18.50 per furniture lot, and £9.25 per non-furniture lot; and a storage charge of £3.20 per furniture lot and £1.60 per non-furniture lot per day; will come into effect. These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
Please note: All charges due to Cadogan Tate must be paid at the time of collection from their warehouse. Only payment by cash, credit card or bankers draft will be accepted.
