A George III silver tankard and a matching Victorian tankard
one with maker's mark Thomas Whipham and Charles Wright, London, 1763, the other with maker's mark of Charles Stuart Harris, London, 1879
Each on tapering cylindrical and rim foot, with leaf-capped beaded scroll handle and detachable domed cover with bud finial, the sides chased with bands of flutes and stylised flowers, the cover with flutes and foliage, each engraved with a coat-of-arms and P cypher beneath within shaped cartouche, one with inscription around the foot, marked on sides and one cover, the earlier engraved beneath the base with scratchweight 'all 42oz=0' and with patch behind the coat-of-arms, with traces of later 17th Century hallmark
