The hinged rectangular top with two panels, each decorated with people drinking wine and surrounded by scrolling foliage, enclosing a plain interior, the front with three variously decorated panels, flanked by soldiers and surmounted by putti, the lockplate flanked by crowned lions, on bun feet, restorations

Lot Essay

Another cedar chest decorated in pokerwork was sold in the collection of the Karl Count of Maldeghem, in these rooms 24 March 1999, lot 308.
