Laurie Bond started designing motor cars in 1947 after a brief spell of aeronautical engineering; it was to be the start of one of the most successful microcars ever, which continued to sell even after the microcar slump at the beginning of the 1960's.

The first prototype was made in 1948 and 'mass' production started in 1949. These Bond minicars were built until 1963 after which demands were placed on the company to start creating full sized cars. One of the features were wheels that turned 90°, allowing the car to move as if placed upon a disc.

This early Bond Mk B was originally built for the New York Auto Show in 1962 and consequently is believed to be the only left hand drive example in the world.

Fully restored to the highest standards, the interior has been retrimmed, with the correct original vinyl being tracked down in England. The one-piece aluminium body was totally stripped and restored prior to being repainted in ivory white and the standard of finish is extremely high. The Bond is fitted with a new burgundy canvas top, side screens and a rear plastic window. New road tyres with burgundy-painted wheels completed this meticulous rebuild of a rare survivor.
