1955 FULDAMOBIL S-1

Chassis No. 3008
Light blue with brown interior. For restoration.

Engine: ILO two stroke, single cylinder, 197cc; Gearbox: three speeds and reverse; Brakes: front cable; Suspension: swing arms and transverse leaf. Left hand drive.

This version of the new, round aluminium bodied Fuldamobil was designed by Norbert Stevenson in ten days to replace the N-Series square lined "Silverfish". The only difference from the Fulda S-2 was the door surround and the ILO motor.

The car is presented in "as found" condition and effectively requires full restoration. The bodyshell is generally good and the aluminium has survived, save for one stress crack. The paint appears to be original. The rare ILO engine seems to be complete but it does not run.

Only 320 of these machines were built by the Fulda subcontractor, NWF, of which the survivors are believed to be just a handful. This example was in a Swedish collection for many years before being acquired by Mr Weiner. It has a Swedish registration document.
