Lot Essay

Frederick Morgan was the son of John Morgan (1823-1886), a genre painter. He painted domestic scenes, scenes of child life, animals and portraits. He exhibited from 1865 at the Royal Academy, the British Institute and at the New Water-Colour Society. He married Miss Alice Havers (1850-1890), a genre and landscape painter.
