A Bolognese carved and gilded cassetta style frame, 18th century
With stylised overlaid foliage to the outer edge, minor cavetto, the recessed plate with scrolling foliage and flower heads on a punched ground, reverse cavetto, raised torus of imbricated laurel leaves, ribbon tied at the centres and corners, cavetto sight edge -- 10¾ x 8½ x 7¼in. (27.3 x 21.6 x 18.4cm.)
