Gilt and painted in colours after a chine de commande example in the Chinese Imari style, decorated with the elaborate helmetted coat of arms of the Guillot family, the border with a wavy band depicting flowerheads and scrolls, comprising;
- nine dishes; 23.5cm. (9 1/4 in.) diam.

The Guillot family originally came from Bordeaux. Elias Guillot moved first to Amsterdam and settled in 1714 as V.O.C. trader in the Dutch Indies. In 1733 he became governor of Coromandel (India) and he died in 1743 in Batavia as Director General of the Dutch Indies. The family lived in Amsterdam until the 19th century.
