A Meissen two-handled Schlangenvase
Late 19th Century, marked with underglaze blue crossed swords
The blue-ground ovoid body decorated in colours with a cartouche reserved with flowers surrounded by gilt scrolls above a fluted lower part, gadrooned knop stem and rising fluted foot with stiff-leaf band, and applied with spiralling serpent handles with acanthus terminals
39 cm. (15 3/8 in.) high
