A Delft jaune bleeding bowl
(aderlaatbekken) decorated in blue with a foglie motifs and winged cupids to the border, the centre with a cross-shaped foliage motif (very repaired)

Lot Essay

This type of decoration is highly reminiscent of Netherlandish maiolica ware of the first half of the 17th century but Delft jaune has only been produced as a class of ware during the second half of the 18th century
