In the manner of a William Kent design, the knopped acorn finials on stepped domed covers, the bodies with vitruvian scroll banding and leaf clasped undersides, on waisted socles and square bases, mounted on stepped rectangular plinths

Lot Essay

Kent's original urns were undoubtedly used to embellish Alexander Pope's garden at Twickenham, c.1744.
