The back rest pierced with panels of stylised foliage, the side panels pierced with conforming ornament, with wood slatted seat, the rails variously stamped with the numbers 50 and 8, and the diamond design patent registration stamp for 19th March, 1881

Lot Essay

The design was registered and patented at The Public Record Office by the John Finch Foundry, Priory Road, Dudley, Worcestershire, on the 19th March, 1881.
