A Coalbrookdale Osmunda Fern pattern cast iron seat
Circa 1875
The top-rail pierced with foliate scrolling brackets above the fern panels to the back rest, the conforming side panels with eagle head arm rest terminals, the side panels united by a stretcher below the slatted wood seat, stamped COALBROOKDALE, NO 273254, NO 57, and with diamond design patent registration stamps for 27th May, 1873

The design was registered and patented by Coalbrookdale at The Public Record Office on 29th May 1873, and is listed as number 57 in their 1875 Castings Catalogue, Section III, page 261.
