The pierced back with central roundel cast with a pointing labrador shown standing amidst ferns and bracken, flanked by smaller roundels of primulas, crocuses and other flowers above a wooden slatted seat, the sides with bird's head terminals and further roundels with butterflies and birds, the openwork legs on square pad feet, with registration stamp for 6th April 1867
