Modelled as a butterfly in flight, the wings exquisitely enamelled in graduated hues of yellow, orange and brown with a satin finish, the tips of the lower wings decorated with pale blue dots, the thorax, abdomen and antennae set with European and rose-cut diamonds, the eyes with cabochon rubies, mounted in silver and gold, circa 1895, with French control marks, with original gilt tooled fitted case inscribed
'R Lalique Paris' containing sprung hair pim stamped 'Lalique', maximum diameter 9.00 cm
