An Important Art Deco Gem-Set Vanity Case
Of hinged half-lunar design, the surface set with an assortment of gems including sapphires, rubies, emeralds, amethysts, citrine etc., opening to reveal a mirror and powder compact; the map on the reverse showing Europe inscribed with various locations connected by red or blue enamel lines; a semi-circular lipstick holder with gem-set terminals en suite, circa 1937, with French assay and maker's mark, powder case 9.0 x 6.0 x 1.06 cm.
