Maker's mark of Hans Baur overstriking another, Augsburg, circa 1640
Tapering cylindrical and on spreading rim foot, with leaf-capped double scroll handle, bifurcated scroll thumbpiece, hinged domed cover and baluster finial, the body chased with a broad band of auricular scrolls with stylized masks and with shaped cartouches faintly prick-engraved with flowers, the cover with reeded borders and a band of similar scroll ornament, marked on body and cover, with later French control marks
