Shaped circular, on four bracket feet, with cast foliate, reeded and scroll border, the raised centre with a seated figure of Britannia surrounded by figures emblematic of Africa, Asia, Europe and America, with a Britannic lion and a globe at her feet, the well with a frieze depicting scenes of tradesmen, labourers, and explorers in various countries, the border with cast and applied vignettes emblematic of trade, travel and commerce, engraved on front and reverse with presentation inscriptions, marked on reverse and centre front
