A lacquer fan shaped kogo
and cover, decorated in takamaki-e with a flowering peony spray in natural colours on a shell sprinkled ground, gold lacquer rims and gold nashiji interior -- 4¼in. (10.8cm) wide, the base inscribed Horikoshi Ittsu, 19th Century, (areas of lacquer loss).
