A lacquer rounded rectangular small chest
and cover, decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e and foil with aoi-mon (hollyhock crests) and strapwork on a gold nashiji ground, gilt foliate mounts and drop handles incised with mon and scrolling lotus, the interior lined in gold painted paper with a wistaria design -- 6.1/8in. (15.6cm) wide, 18th Century, (slight rubbing).
