A gold lacquer shibayama style rounded square kogo
and domed cover, decorated in hiramakie, takamakie, kirigane and inset in mother-of-pearl, ivory, horn and coral on a fundame ground with a cockatoo on a perch, flowering branches and a hanging basket, the sides with a water landscape scene, nashiji interior, silver rims -- 3½in. (8.9cm) wide, 19th Century, (minor chips, slight wear).
