An ivory shibayama style fan
decorated in applied lacquer and gilt with butterflies amongst blossoming flowers and foliage, the silk fan painted on one side with a figure carrying a bail of straw in a river landscape and butterflies amongst blossoming branches to the other, with attached ivory ojimi -- 10½in. (27cm.) long; and two further fans of similar decoration -- 10½in. (27cm.) max. long, 19th Century, (minor holes and old wear).
