A pair of Japanese tortoiseshell and lacquer vases and stands
decorated in gold lacquer hiramakie, takamakie and scattered nashiji with mythical serpeants and ho-o birds amongst pine trees in a mountainous landscape, the bases decorated with bands of geometric designs, on further circular stands -- 9½in. (24cm.) high, 19th Century, (splits and minor losses to inlay).
